Summary

Nest Wi-Fi blankets your whole home with reliable coverage ¹. It works behind the scenes to keep your Wi-Fi strong and buffering at bay. Nest Wi-Fi is easy to set up in the Google Home app².Then connect and manage devices on your network. You can also pause Wi-Fi to limit screen time for the children. Automatic updates help your network stay safe and sound. And when you need some extra help, just ask your Google Assistant in your Nest Wi-Fi point. Use your voice to control connected devices, play your favourite music, broadcast messages around the house and more³. Nest Wi-Fi manages your whole connected home⁴. One Wi-Fi router with one Wi-Fi point is strong enough to handle up to 200 connected devices, and strong enough to stream multiple 4K videos at a time⁵. This is Wi-Fi as it should be.

The point

Each point works with the router to expand coverage and keep Wi‑Fi strong in every room. It’s also a smart speaker that you can play music on, find answers and more.

Keep it all connected

Nest Wi-Fi is easy to set up. It blankets your whole home with reliable coverage ¹, and it works behind the scenes to keep buffing at bay. The new way to Wi-Fi

Check your network speeds from anywhere with your smartphone². Easily create a guest network and share your password with just a few taps. Decide which devices to prioritise for faster speeds and use parental controls to manage online time for the children.

Your Home, your way

Nest Wi-Fi points have a speaker with Google Assistant and work with thousands of compatible devices from brands that you love³. Just say “Hey Google, pause for Dylan’s devices” or “Hey Google, dim the lights” to set the scene at dinner time⁷. Nest Wi-Fi makes it easy to add, set up and manage connected devices in your network, all in the Google Home app ². And with coverage in confident that every device will work smoothly¹.

Beautifully simple

Requires cable or DSL modem subscription with an Internet Service Provider (ISP)

What is a router?

There are two devices that tend to confuse people when it comes to the networking industry–the modem and the router. The modem connects your home to your Internet Services Provider, such as Bell Fibe Internet, while the router distributes the signals to different areas in your home. The modern modem generally includes a wireless router. However, its range might not be wide enough for your home. In this case, you might wish to add a router to your network.

What Wi-Fi router should you buy?

Consider the key points here that will help you choose the router that works best for your needs:
  • The size of your home/coverage area, mesh Wi-Fi could be an option if you have a larger home.
  • The material or thickness of your walls, as you may require a more powerful router to achieve the desired signal strength.
  • The number of devices you wish to connect in your home; you might want to look into tri-band routers if you have many smart devices in your home.
  • 2.4GHz is good for regular web surfing and social media apps but other household appliances such as your microwave or TV will interfere with it.
  • 5.0GHz is optimized for video streaming and online gaming, but it has shorter range than the 2.4GHz bandwidth.
  • LAN ports and USB ports may be preferred as they allow you to connect demanding wired devices such as desktop PCs, gaming consoles, network-attached storage (NAS) drives, and home-automation hubs.
