We put off buying one of these for at least a year. I am so glad we didn't wait any longer. So easy to set up. Within minutes I had a phone to use. Occassionally I hear a little static/feedback but all in all a great product and even better I can participate in conference calls without paying huge $ and make any calls business related without having to worry about long distance charges!

I did a lot of research on the Magic Jack online...read endless reviews before deciding to purchase. I've only had it less then 24 hours however I am already impressed with all that it has to offer. I am tired of the endless up sell for features on landlines and mobile phones and the horrid contracts. I wanted my own number with voicemail and the ability to receive and make calls. I frequently use Skype but it has limitations which fortunately the MJ more then adequately compensates for...the vm is sent to my email as a file..the subject line includes the name and number of the caller..what a great idea! I wasn't able to purchase a "vanity number" for Canada in particular Toronto or the GTA however there were lots of numbers to choose from so you can have a local number for a mere $10 a year extra so your friends or family can call just like a regular phone. The other nice surprise that isn't really highlighted in the description is that your first year (a $20 value) is included in your purchase price. How nice is that? No contracts to sign and all the features you would really want are included..try that with your typical landline or mobile. I'll keep my basic mobile but for everything else so far I'm loving the Magic Jack!

I have had my MagicJack for just over a week and have already saved soooo much money on my phone. I use the phone alot for my Tupperware that I recently started and was racking up huge bills by just having my cell phone. I decided to try the MagicJack and I love it! calls are clear, never been dropped, and the price is amazing. The only negative I have is that I had to hardwire my computer to the internet moden, when I was wireless the quality of the calls was pretty bad, choppy and quite.

I bought the magicjack so I could get rid of my Rogers home phone. The savings are huge. The only issue I have with the magicjack is I cannot seem to call any 800/888 toll free numbers which may be an issue if I am working from home. As long as you have a cell as backup it's really not a problem. I wish I could have kept my old number but since the savings were so high I'll deal with the inconvenience of updating everyone I know with my new one.

best thing i ever did was buy a magic jack! it not only saves me tons of money ( at only $30 a year after initial purchase )..i can make ALL the long distance phone calls across CANADA and the U.S. and talk as much as I want with no extra fees! WOW..my regular phone land line would cost me about $ 600 a year...so I am truly happy with my savings! It is easy to attach to your computer and existing phone, works well, is clear and does a great job of replacing your expensive phone line! get one..you'll be glad you did! Only negative aspect is if the phone numbers give are not in your local area, then it is long distance for your local friends to call you, but then you can solve that problem, by you calling them instead!

the magic jack does exactly what they advertise be aware though if you want a canadian phone number it is an additional $10 per year but if you are just using it for outgoing phone calls an american number works just fine. If you are using it on an older computer be aware that dropped calls do occur if you are also using the computer to do other things at the same time (play games etc.)
