Nintendo 3DS XL - Blue/Black
Best Money I've spent
I've never been happier with such a significant purchase. I'm upgrading from a DS Lite, and I have only positive things to say about the system except for one thing, which is the battery life. My DS Lite went for days without charging, but admittedly the 3DS's biggest flaw is that you can get about a day's worth of heavy play out of it before you have to bring out the charger.
That small thing aside, some highlights:
-It actually connects to the internet, something my DS Lite could never do because my WiFi didn't fit the requirements. The 3DS supports many more connection types so I can browse the eShop and talk with friends over the internet easily!
-The 3D DOES definitely work. For those who don't know, there is even a slider on the side so you can adjust the 3D and turn it off if you have to. It really adds something to the games but isn't necessary if your eyes can't handle it
-The processing power and the functions of the 3DS have improved CONSIDERABLY from the DS Lite
-I love being able to download demos before I buy a game (Note: not all games have demos)
It really is a lovely device and I certainly recommend it to those worried about upgrading from the previous DS family. I have a feeling the 3DS will be around for a while. Plus, there's a whole slew of games you can play on it, such as Nintendo's Zelda and Mario series, Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion, the upcoming Pokémon X and Y games, etc. You won't run out of things to do on the 3DS.
Plus if you're into it, there's a lot of old Gameboy games you can download onto your 3DS to check out, too!
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. It took a little longer to ship to my address than anticipated, but that was fine because it still arrived within a week of my order. I would certainly recommend it to others looking for a solid gaming system that will last them for years and provide many hours of entertainment.

Nice game selection
I love the games available on it, but I wish they'd kept the GBA compatibility. It's a decent console. I don't really care for the 3D effects though. It's very tough on the eyes and gives me a headache within minutes of turning the 3D on. Luckily all the games I have can be played with 3D completely off.

Totally worth the extra 30 bucks over the 3DS
The screen size really does make a huge difference for gameplay - you notice a lot more details in the games (which have been created with high pixel density, so in a lot of games this can be quite useful).
Sound quality is good, the battery life is EXCELLENT (just be weary of leaving the 3D setting on all the time). Despite the extra bulk, it's a great upgrade from my old DSi and a lot of the new games are looking really promising.
Also if you keep an eye on the website the XL does go on sale once in awhile (-20$) - I bought it at the sale price myself.
