TIE CLIP MICROPHONE
Piece of Junk
I bought this for a digital recorder. The sound recorded with this microphone is full of static and very very quiet. The sound recorded without any microphone is loud and clear. This microphone is a piece of junk.

This little microphone seems to be identical to other similar mics, such as the Pearstone OLM-10. You'd have to order that by mail, whereas you can pick this one up from your local Source store. For an inexpensive mic, I think the quality is quite good. It sounds a little different to some of the professional ($300) mics I compared it to, but the sound is pleasant and perfectly acceptable. The battery is a button cell (LR44 - probably the most common size of button cell). The plug is a mono plug, which means that if you plug it into your stereo mic jack without using an adapter, you will probably only get sound from one channel. If you're shooting video, and want to get better sound, putting a few of these mics on your performers and recording the sound directly (perhaps to digital recorders on each person) will work and sound much better than adding an expensive shotgun mic to the camera, and avoids some of the hassles and cost of radio mics. If you're new to this, this mic will record at different levels on different machines - one some devices, it may be too quiet. Look on the internet for solutions. The mic is cheap enough that you can buy one and try it out.

Gets the job done
Decent microphone for the size, works nicely, unobtrusive, and the sound quality is good.
On the other hand, I thought the battery would just be to amplify somewhat the signal, but you get no sound at all without it.
A bit pricey.
