I purchased this item to convert Optical sound output from my Xbox360 into coaxial input for my older surround sound system which did not have optical input. Unfortunately I did not know at the time that this device was for the opposite conversion and would only convert coaxial sound into optical output, with no ability to reverse the direction. I ended up returning this item and since there were no adapters from the source which would work for my situation I ordered a similar adapter from a store in the US which was priced about the same.
Bottom line DO NOT BUY this if you are trying to convert the more widely used optical into less popular coaxial. Thank you for reading my review.
