Product Highlights: Easy to Use , Value for Money

The DaneElec 8GB USB drive is a very competitively priced thumb drive for storing large amounts of data. Most people would do well with a 1GB stick, but for larger data such as movies and huge amounts of songs, this is great value for money. Read/write speeds are average, which is to be expected on a budget USB stick. The casing has a sturdy feel, and will not break if dropped from say, a backpack or pocket. You can attach it to a keychain as well, though most contemporary USB chains have this feature as well. I would recommend this to anyone if they grab one on sale for less than $20.

I've had a couple of these for about 6 months. They have worked without a problem, but are a bit hard to open. Read/Write speed seems adequate, you can't expect faster for the price. Very durable case.

I have an old 256 MB USB Drive but found when I wanted to copy a program. photos or MP3's to bring to my friend's house I could never bring everthing I wanted. With this Dane 8GB USB pendrive , anything I need to copy, it fits. The old saying goes, bigger is better. A great buy.

Great product for the price

I picked this up on The Source's daily special. The price was great and a no brainer really to purchase the product. The device is sturdy. Easy to use. Afterall it is just a pen drive. That is all I wanted. No hassle. The only minor annoyance is the cover is tight and you have to really pull or push to expose or cover the USB connection. It could just be the unit I got. In time it will loosen up. Bottom line: like the product, would buy it again, would recommend to a friend. The price was right and that is the reason I bought it.

This was my third drive in less than 6 months. All failed. The biggest advantage of USB drive is the reliability. So, if it fails again and again, that speaks volumes about manufacturing quality. Buy only for non-critical storage.

It is USB 2.0. For the capacity it offers the price is really good. Transferred 1.65 GB data in 3 minutes. That comes to approx 9MB/ sec. Not too bad. Better priced than any other similar capacity in drive in the market.

Not sure what the others are using for a computer, but I have very fast transfer rates with my Mac and PC. Close to 8gb of video in under 5 minutes transfered. This is an exceptional buy.

I bought this drive and added about 5.5GB of music. Used it in my car stereo. Only one folder of music would play. Tried to delete some songs, copy to it, and even five different ways of formatting. Always error returned "device write-protected".

I find the file transfer rate slow. I have another brand of the 8GB USB drive and it is twice as fast when transferring files. It is handy but you have to have patience when transferring files.

I bought this today and I dumped 7.5 gb of stuff on it. It took nearly half an hour for it to get it on there. But it seems to be working fine otherwise.
